Meditation For Anxiety
Anxiety. a common word spread throughout many households in today’s world. As isolating of a feeling this is, you are not alone. Almost 40 million Americans each year suffer from some type of anxiety. Anxiety presents itself in many forms; butterflies, heart palpitations, headaches, stomach tightness, etc. These feelings can seem overwhelming and unpredictable. This is where guided meditation comes in. Research has confirmed the benefits of meditation for anxiety disorders and other stress-related conditions by providing an avenue to counter the stress response our body experiences when we are anxious. Research has shown that through a consistent meditation practice, you are able to reprogram and recognize triggering thoughts, increasing our capacity to manage anxious feelings.
Theta will teach you techniques through GMS to help relieve symptoms and achieve a sense of calm in the midst of chaos. Oftentimes, anxiety can be a trigger that will lead to other learned responses such as bad habits- drinking, smoking, drugs, even biting your nails.
GMS produces therapeutic benefits for anxiety by inducing relaxation and focus while reducing automatic, subconscious responses and focuses on how to manage our thoughts.
What is GMS™
The way we think and what we constantly think about determines what we achieve and fail to achieve throughout our daily lives. Most of us believe we are consciously in charge of our thoughts, but this is far from the truth. According to cognitive neuroscience, our decisions, actions, emotions and behavior depend on the 95% of brain activity that is unconscious, which is influenced by our past conditioning, experiences as well as of the collective cultural mind-set we inherited.
GMS is quite simple, through meditation one enters into a deeper state of suggestibility. Once in this state, Guided Meditation and Suggestion is used to influence emotional, behavioral, and cognitive change to align with your personal goals.
The GMS technique is derived and influenced from using a combination of theories.
